13.45 Arrive at Jim Thompson House, built in 1958, Jim Thompson’s traditional Thai house consists of six teakwood structures surrounded by lush gardens. Passionate about Thai architecture, Jim collected and reassembled abandoned houses from across Thailand with the help of skilled Ayutthaya craftsmen. Today, his home stands as a historic landmark, known not only as the residence of the “Silk King” before his mysterious disappearance, but also as a museum showcasing rare Asian art and antiques previously unknown to the world.
